2015 FOOTBALL EVENTSOff-season workouts: Jan-May 21 Open to all high school athletes. Incoming 9th graders can start attending workouts on April 6. Athletes need current physical.
Off-season workouts are designed to help the athletes get bigger, stronger, and faster. Workouts consist of a phase 1 and phase 2 lifting cycles designed to increase the athlete’s muscular strength, power, and endurance. Max outs will be in March and May to test athletes’ improvements in strength, power, and speed. Athletes will work out three days a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Athletes can lift in the morning, during class, or after school.
Blue Dawn Spring Conditioning April 7-28 Open to all high school athletes. Athletes need current physical to participate.
Blue Dawn Workouts consist of 7 days of speed & agility training on the football field. Workouts will be at 7 am on Tuesday & Friday. Athletes will also be involved in competitive team competitions involving speed and agility drills.
NCHSAA Spring Football May 11- 22 Open to grades 9 through 11. Incoming freshman and current seniors are not allowed to participate. Athletes need current physical
NCHSAA spring football is new for the 2015 season. Spring football will consist of 10 days (two weeks) of football practice. Practice will consist of football drills and offensive and defensive team strategies. Spring football practice will be every day Monday through Friday during the two week time frame. Players will wear helmets and shoulder pads for spring practice. Off-season attendance will be used to determine when players are issued helmets and shoulder pads for spring practice.
Pre-Season Summer Workouts June 15- July 30 Open to all athletes attending WHS in 2015. Athletes must have current physical to participate
Summer Workouts will consist of strength training, agility & speed training, and football related drills. Workouts will be every day Monday-Thursday from 8 -10:30 am. There are two dead period weeks in the summer. These workouts are essential for preparing the players for the demands of football. The workouts are designed to help players increase conditioning levels, increase and maintain strength gained in the off-season, and build team chemistry. Football development and offensive and defensive strategies will also be covered in summer workouts.

2015 football Calendar (Jan-July 2015)
The football calendar from January to July has been posted in "Team Files." This will allow parents and student-athletes the ability to plan vacations, work, and other activities in advance. The schedule is subject to change and more events can be added. August through November calendar will be posted at a later time. Go Pioneers!

2015 Athletic/Football off-season workouts (Phase 1)
Starts Tuesday, January 20
Off-season workouts will be Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Athletes can work out before school, during PE class, or after school.
Before school: 7:00 am- 8:00 am (7:45 on Thursday/FCA)
After School: 3:45- 4:45 pm
